Description

HDPE 7000F, also known as SABIC-F00950 or F00952, is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) copolymer characterized by its high molecular weight and the inclusion of butene-1 as a comonomer. Due to its exceptional film strength, this specific grade of HDPE is designed for the production of very thin films. It is processed using the film blowing method, which involves extruding the molten polymer through a die and inflating it into a bubble, which is then cooled and solidified to create a sheet or tube.

  • Molecular Structure: HDPE 7000F is a bimodal polyethylene copolymer with butene-1 as a comonomer, which contributes to its high molecular weight and broad molecular weight distribution. This structure enhances its mechanical properties and processing capabilities.
  • Density and Melt Flow Rate: The material has a density of approximately 0.952 g/cm³ and a melt flow index (MFI) of 0.04 g/10 min at 190 °C/2.16 Kg. These values indicate its suitability for applications requiring robust film properties and processing efficiency.
  • Mechanical Properties: HDPE 7000F exhibits excellent mechanical strength, high stiffness, and good impact resistance. It has a tensile strength at a break of around 38.24 MPa and a tensile elongation at a break of 500%, making it suitable for demanding applications.
  • Thermal Properties: HDPE 7000F’s melting point is approximately 131 °C, which allows it to maintain structural integrity under various thermal conditions.

HDPE 7000F is widely used in the production of:

  • Thin Films: Its properties make it ideal for creating ultra-thin films, which are essential in packaging applications.
  • Bags: It is commonly used for manufacturing grocery bags, heavy-duty bags, and disposal waste bags due to its strength and durability.
  • Food Packaging: The material is food contact compliant, making it suitable for food packaging applications, including food and fruit bags.
  • Medical Applications: HDPE 7000F is also used in the production of medical gowns and disposable gloves, where hygiene and material integrity are critical.
